Why Use A Red Light In Your Setup?
Unlike solar spot lamps, an infra-red lamp produces heat without the bright white light. The infra-red rays can penetrate more deeply into your pet's body and help them with thermoregulation as well as increasing the ambient air temperature of your setup so you can create that ideal temperature gradient. Furthermore, because this lamp produces red light rather than white, it is more suited to encouraging more natural nocturnal behaviours and enabling you to see your pet's activities after dark.
Use As Part Of A Heat & Light Setup
A red lamp should be used in conjunction with the right heat and light equipment for your pet. Most animals will require an additional light that produces UVB light to support their overall health and well being and may require additional heat sources to mimic natural day and night temperatures from the wild. We also recommend using a suitable dimming thermostat with your infrared bulb to maintain accurate temperatures and increase efficiencies.
